While Veterans Day might have looked different this year, the enthusiasm was still strong at one Madison school.

Students at Columbia Elementary honored local veterans Nov. 10 with a drive-thru parade on campus.

Approximately 100 veterans participated in the parade. The kids lined up with their classes along the route and waved flags, streamers and signs that they made for the veterans. After the parade, the veterans received treats and a gift from the school.

“Columbia Elementary has quite a number of students with parents in the military, and there are several staff members at the school who are also veterans,” Madison City Schools Public Relations Manager John Peck said.
