Regina Bublitz was officially installed Friday as the new product manager of the Aircraft Survivability Equipment Missing Warning Product Office.
A midafternoon change of charter ceremony was held at Bob Jones Auditorium as Bublitz took over the office from Lt. Col. Christopher Hill.
Hill spent nearly three years in the role before accepting a new position in Washington, D.C., as military assistant to Undersecretary of the Army Ryan McCarthy.
“Chris is known for thinking outside the box to develop creative solutions and exceeding those plans,” Col. Kevin Chaney, project manager for Aircraft Survivability Equipment, said.
Hill thanked his family and team as he reflected on his time in the Missile Warning Product Office, and the leaders who helped him along the way.
Heidi Shyu, former Army acquisition executive and the assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology, attended the ceremony and was thanked for her presence by Chaney, Hill and Bublitz.
Bublitz said the Missile Warning Product Office’s mission is vital to the Army.
“As combat enablers, we are a big reason that someone’s son or daughter, brother or sister, or mother or father – whoever that someone special may be – that they make it back home,” Bublitz said.
She thanked Hill for a smooth transition, and leaving behind a strong team.
“Karl Von Clausewitz once said although our intelligent always longs for clarity and certainty, our nature often finds uncertainty fascinating,” she said. “As acquisition professionals that’s where we operate, in the uncertainty.”
She said Von Clausewitz’ words were never truer than when applied to the team’s mission’s portfolio.
“Emerging threats that we are going to face, those are uncertainties,” Bublitz said. “And we will not fail our mission.”
Bublitz is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School with a master of science in program management. She also holds a bachelor of arts from George Mason University.
