Military members, civilians, contractors and their immediate family members assigned to several organizations across Redstone Arsenal can now apply for scholarships through the Air, Space and Missile Defense Association.

ASMDA is offering multiple college scholarship opportunities for deserving students in the Air, Space and Missile Defense community.

The 2021 Mayor Loretta Spencer University Scholarship provides four undergraduate (juniors or seniors only) or graduate students majoring in science or engineering to each receive a $4,000 scholarship award.

The Spencer scholarships are available to individual ASMDA members and their immediate family members, corporate members’ employees and their immediate family members, as well as military, civilian personnel and contractors currently assigned to sponsored government organizations and their immediate family members.

The 2021 Lt. Gen. Larry Dodgen Memorial Scholarship provides a $4,000 college scholarship to one deserving student in the Air, Space and Missile Defense community through the ASMDA University Scholarship Fund.

The Dodgen scholarship is available to active, reserve and National Guard Soldiers currently working for or assigned to: Space and Missile Defense Command; Program Executive Office for Missiles and Space; Aviation and Missile Command; Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation & Missile Center; the Missile and Space Intelligence Center; the Missile Defense Agency; and the NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. The scholarship is also available to these Soldiers’ spouses and children.

Scholarship applications are due by June 30 and these scholarships will be presented at the annual Space and Missile Defense symposium in August.
