Maj. Gen. Daniel Karbler has been confirmed by the Senate for appointment to lieutenant general and for assignment as commander of the Space and Missile Defense Command.
The promotion and subsequent change of command is scheduled Friday at Redstone Arsenal.
Currently serving as special assistant to the commander of Army Materiel Command, Karbler brings more than 30 years of leadership and technical experience to the job, particularly air defense artillery, joint command and staff assignments, and test and evaluation.
