2018 Annual Missile Defense Small Business Programs Conference

The Missile Defense Agency Office of Small Business Programs will hold their annual Small Business Conference, June 25-26 at the Von Braun Center South Hall.

All small businesses that have an interest in learning how to do business with the agency are encouraged to attend. Attendees will hear presentations from MDA leadership, technical experts, and contracting personnel and will have the opportunity for matchmaking with prime contractors and government representatives.

“This event will provide insight into the MDA’s major programs and opportunities for small businesses to learn how to do business with the agency,” Lee Rosenberg, director of the MDA Office of Small Business Programs, said.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to hear about new procurement opportunities and receive advice for how to market companies to collaborate with prime contractors to provide innovative technologies or support services.

“Small businesses are essential to the work that is done at MDA,” Rosenberg said. “Maximizing the use of small businesses on MDA contracts at the prime and subcontract level is a high priority for the agency in order to gain the creativity, innovation, technical competence and cost effectiveness resident in the small businesses community as we move forward with our critical mission.”

Presentations at this year’s conference will include MDA Executive Director John James, Department of Defense Office of Small Business Programs Acting Director Shannon Jackson, MDA Director for Acquisition Laura DeSimone, MDA Director of Contracting Karla Jackson, an acquisition town hall forum and cybersecurity requirements.

Representatives from the MDA program offices, the MDA Small Business Advocacy Council and other government agencies will host one-on-one matchmaking sessions with small businesses looking to do work with their respective organizations.

This event is co-hosted with the National Defense Industrial Association Tennessee Valley Chapter. Interested attendees may register online at http://ndiatvc.org. On-site registration will also be available.
