tree lighting for soldiers

The eighth annual lighting of the Soldiers Tree 2020 is celebrated Dec. 12 in the audiovisual department at the Huntsville/Madison County Public Library.

Rosie Douglas, president of Rosie’s International Services Inc., organizes the holiday event each year to show the community’s appreciation to Soldiers and their families.

The ornaments included original artwork by students from the Academy for Academics and Arts Elementary, Madison Elementary, Mae Jemison High School, McDonnell Elementary School, New Hope Elementary School, Seminole Boys and Girls Club, and Williams Middle School. Saxophonist Tommy Friend provided music.
