Anyone who is not affiliated with Redstone Arsenal can now obtain an installation access badge after passing a background check at the Gate 9 Visitors Center.

Redstone’s new installation access policy says that badge will allow the general public access to recreational and various Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation activities on post.

A background check is required for all unaffiliated visitors to the installation ages 18 and older who request unescorted access. Visitors under 18 may enter when escorted by a valid pass holder. Children under 18 will be under constant supervision by an adult.

Applicants for a visitor access badge must read and sign the Visitor Access Control Policy. All persons and vehicles entering the post are liable to search. Photographing or making notes, drawings, maps or graphic representations of this area are prohibited unless official approval has been granted in advance.

Eligible categories to request visitor access include the following:

• Recreation (non-affiliated)

• Sponsored visitor/government sponsored (affiliated)

• Spouse (affiliated)

• Housing residents (affiliated)

• Foreign national (escorted or unescorted)

• Contractor (affiliated)

• Marshall Space Flight Center/NASA (affiliated)

Editor’s note: The Visitor Access Control Policy is available on the Team Redstone website at https://home.army.mil/redstone/.
