It’s a new day for 58 graduates from Columbia College.
The school held its 44th annual commencement exercise on Redstone Arsenal Nov. 2 and conferred Masters, Bachelor, and Associate degrees at the ceremony.
“Education transcends the classroom ladies and gentlemen, and you know that,” Lt. Gen. Ed Daly, Army Materiel Command deputy commanding general and Redstone Arsenal senior commander, said. “It transcends obstacles and barriers. It opens doors and makes opportunities replete.”
Between 60% to 70% of the graduates work on Redstone.
“Redstone thrives each and every day because of the great workforce we have, and you are that foundation of that workforce,” he said. “Keep that in mind as you progress and go forward.”
Columbia College at Redstone offers 18 resident degrees along with numerous on-line degree opportunities.
“The last thing I will tell you, just continue to be great,” he said. “Each one of you had greatness in you.
“Maximize your potential, don’t waste a second; life is too short.
“Make it contagious. Make it contagious with your family, with your children, with your friends, and those with whom you work.
“Make it great. Make a difference.”
