Pagano Gym is going to hold its second Heartbeats Workout Event on Feb. 13 as part of American Heart Month.
It’s a Tabata-style workout that will feature 10 stations that will use body weight and equipment like battle ropes, a weighted sled and aerobic steps.
The idea behind Tabata is to mix short intervals of intense effort with short intervals of rest to maximize the benefits of each exercise.
It’ll get your heart pumping.
“It’s the beginning of the year. People have a lot of New Year’s resolutions. And we just want to give them a taste of something different, maybe give them an exercise they haven’t tried,” Lori Ciranni, director of sports, fitness and aquatics, said.
All authorized patrons are welcome. There’s a $3 fee, but all active duty military can participate for free.
