Space Camp is back after a brief and limited Space Camp program in summer 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center closed Space Camp for several months, reopening on May 23 at 50% capacity to account for health and safety protocols.

This summer Space Camp and its affiliate programs, Aviation Challenge and U.S. Cyber Camp, will welcome children from all over the U.S. to train like astronauts, pilots and cyber experts.

On Thursday, Gov. Kay Ivey met with students attending the Space Academy for Leading Students of Alabama, a program that provides Space Camp scholarships to middle school students from each legislative district in the state.
