It is often said that the strength of the nation is the Army; the strength of the Army is its Soldiers; and the strength of a Soldier is their family.

Which is why for the past 30 years the Army has paused each April to celebrate Month of the Military Child, a time to recognize the commitment, contributions and sacrifices Army children make, not only for their parents, but for their nation. The Mills Road Child Development Center kicked off the observance Friday with a parade. This year’s theme is “Their Journeys and Adventures.”
