Amputee softball preview.jpg

The USA Patriots amputee softball team is returning to this area.

The team, of service members who have lost limbs in combat, will play Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field in Madison.

Gates open for this tribute night at 5:30 p.m. A pregame meet-and-greet with the players is from 6-7 for photos and autographs. Presentation of the colors is by the Alabama A&M University ROTC color guard. The national anthem will be sung by Navy veteran Christopher Baxter.

The first pitch is 7:30. The USA Patriots will play an exhibition game against members of Team BeArded WARRIORS. At the conclusion of the game, postgame fireworks will be provided by Pyro Works.

Team BeArded WARRIORS, this year’s event sponsor, consists of local veterans, firefighters and law enforcement.

Admission is $10 per person. More information can be found on BeArded WARRIORs Events, beardedwarriors.org under the USA Patriots tab, and at the USA Patriots website https://usawwast.org/.
