The Other Team came out swinging.
And they never stopped in their 24-3 win over KBR Wyle on May 6 at NASA softball field 2. In four innings they had 25 hits with a home run, a triple and eight doubles.
“Everyone was hitting today, getting the bat on the ball,” pitcher/coach LaTesa Graham said. “It just seemed to be contagious.”
Graham held KBR Wyle to six hits for the win. In the bottom of the fourth, KBR Wyle scored their three runs on five hits.
Doug Dutcher blasted a two-run homer in the first for The Other Team (3-0). Dutcher, Tim Cooper, Brad Harris and Gary Benjamin had three hits apiece. Troy Dunning had a triple and a double. Zach Taylor, Ty Butler, Danielle Dutcher and Caleb Bagwell also had two hits apiece.
Nick Hunter had a run-scoring hit and scored for KBR Wyle (1-1). Wes Jones took the loss in this game in the coed Redstone Division.
“They just hit the gaps,” KBR Wyle player/coach Jonathan Hillis said. “We didn’t really do bad on defense. They just hit it where we weren’t. Batting kind of struggled a little bit. Lesson learned. We’ll turned it around.”
