Softball update at break.jpg

This was Redstone softball’s equivalent of halftime intermission.

The post softball league didn’t have any games the week of Memorial Day. So, it’s interesting to note the division leaders at the break – like reading the leaderboard during a golf tournament after nine holes.

We Dem Boyz (4-1), the three-time defending champs of Division 1, sit atop their six-team division.

“We are leading the division but still aren’t clicking on all cylinders,” player/coach Brad Harris said. “Offense seems to be coming around but we are continuing to make unforced errors on defense.

“Hopefully by time playoffs come around, we will be clicking on all cylinders like (University of Kentucky basketball coach John) Calipari’s Wildcats normally are during March Madness.”

The Other Team (4-0), which won the past two Division B championships, is leading the coed Redstone Division.

“I’m super proud of the team that we have this year,” The Other Team player/coach LaTesa Graham said. “Of course, we love to win. But I think more than that, we just enjoy the game and each other. The chemistry with this group just works. So far this year, the bats have shown up for each game, and our defense has been pretty solid too. Hopefully, we can keep our momentum going into the second half of the season.”

Here are the other division leaders: TBE Integrators (4-0), coed Marshall Division; and Bomb Busters (4-0), Division D.
