Three hits were enough for the Ice Cold Pitchers.

Of course one of them left the ballpark.

Austin Decker hit a three-run homer and 16 walks helped as the Ice Cold Pitchers beat Guns n’ Hoses 19-18 in Thursday’s Division D game at NASA softball field 2. The Ice Cold Pitchers earned their first win.

“Just made a few hits when we needed to,” Decker, the player/coach, said. “The other team jelled and made plays. It was close but we held together. We hung on. It was a good game.”

Decker, Monte Church and Betty Ann Neilson had one hit apiece for Ice Cold Pitchers (1-4). Crystal Santiago pitched the four-inning win.

Jimmy Magee had four hits with a double, four runs batted in and three runs scored for Guns n’ Hoses (2-3). Chris Young and Ian Voisine had three hits apiece. Dallas Staub added two hits while Young took the loss.

“Well-played by the other team,” Guns n’ Hoses player/coach Ragnar Opiniano said. “They were patient at the plate. But (our) team had heart – battled back.”
