I first saw the video on Sunday morning, Sept. 12. The sportscasters were laughing about an unusual highlight from the college football games.

A cat was clinging for dear life on a rope from the top of Hard Rock Stadium in Miami during the Hurricanes game against Appalachian State. The cat finally just gave up and decided to use one of its nine lives. It let go of the rope and started falling.

Miraculously a fan below caught the feline in an American flag. The entire crowd erupted with joy. It was like the roar after a winning touchdown. The Hurricanes went on to beat Appalachian State, 29-23.

Think of the odds. Think of the irony. A cat gets saved by an American flag on the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Immediately I started sharing the video from YouTube.

This was the catch of the day.
