Besides their red T-shirts, the KAOS team players are known for two things. They have a lot of experience and they’re competitive most volleyball matches.

KAOS outlasted That One Team 20-25, 25-14, 16-14 and they beat Spiked Punch 25-9, 25-6 on Oct. 10 at the west court of the Marshall Wellness Center.

“We pulled it out,” KAOS captain Dennis Gallagher said between matches. “It was very close and we pulled it out.”

Jim Hartmann had nine kills and four aces for KAOS (5-3). Tim Duquette made seven kills, four aces and four digs. Billy Carson had 13 kills, three digs, two aces and two blocks. Gallagher had seven aces, five digs and three kills. Stacy Mitchell made three digs and Lindsey Ingram had two.

“KAOS is a good team,” That One Team captain Austin Decker said. “We hung in there with them pretty well. We just couldn’t quite close it out.”

That One Team beat Spiked Punch 25-12, 25-4 in the nightcap.

Alyssa Luciano tallied seven kills, seven aces and five digs for That One Team (5-3). Jason Marske made 10 aces and five kills. Derek Santiago delivered nine kills and seven aces. Decker added two kills and two aces.

Greg Cmarik had three aces, two kills and three digs for Spiked Punch (2-10). Eliza Dellert made three kills. Anne Garber had four digs and Betty Ann Neilson added two.

“KAOS is an incredible team,” Cmarik, the Spiked Punch captain, said. “It made sense that they were runners-up last year. But we played good.”
